Spawn is one of Seacraft's most main locations. It is were players spawn when they first come on.

Features[]

The structure is made out of prismarine bricks with a rectangular pattern of sea lanterns. The prismarine extends all the way down to the ocean floor. Below the layer of prismarine, lies a layer of bedrock. This bedrock is to ensure that the structure is not griefed further.

History[]

The Forgotten Period
Please note that the following content may contain assumptions as some of the information has been lost or forgotten.

Spawn was the smaller of the two main islands at the start of Seacraft. The structure was originally constructed by jacobme32. It was made out of mossy cobblestone and glowstone. A noticeboard made out of cracked stone bricks was constructed on the northern side of Spawn. This noticeboard originally just showed the Rules

Additions and Changes[]

The first thing added to Spawn was the Boat Race Control Tower. It was constructed on Spawn's southern side. A Seacraft flag was put on top of the control tower.

Later, a Nether portal was added. This was put on the western side of Spawn.

After that, suggestions were added. You could submit suggestions to the left of the noticeboard. Suggestions were later moved to the Seacraft Centre. The first Warp Room was also constructed under Spawn, with a button to access it placed to the left of the bridge to Horse Island (now called Sunflower Island).

The suggestions used to be sent to a secret "Operator Room" built underwater to the north of Horse Island (Sunflower Island). After it was discovered, a new Operator Room was built under Spawn.

In The Expansion Period[]

When the Railway Network was first constructed during the Expansion Period (c. February 2014), the Spawn train station was built to the left of the Boat Race Control Tower. It originally only went to Mainland Plaza.

The Expansion Period also brought Warp Room 2, also built under Spawn next to the first warp room.

Auto-Announcer[]

In early Version 2, it was found that the bottom of Spawn was blown up, likely an attack on the second operator room. Spawn was constructed to reach the ocean floor and, in July 2014, the empty space inside was used to construct a massive redstone clock to function as an announcement systems, displaying an announcement every minute, with room for three separate announcements. This was dubbed the "Auto-Announcer".

The Prismarine Change[]

When Minecraft 1.8 was released (likely Seacraft 2.1), Spawn was completely changed. The cobblestone, glowstone, and the noticeboard were changed to prismarine bricks, sea lanterns, and prismarine respectively.

New Train Station[]

For the construction of Seacraft 2.3, the train station at Spawn was expanded, featuring four platforms. Now, the station had direct railway connections to both Mainland Plaza and Sunflower Town. It's possible that Spawn was one of the first stations to receive renovations.

Boat Race Removal[]

Boat Race was removed as part of Seacraft 2.3.2 to make way for Terry the Turtle, and so the Boat Race control tower was decommissioned. The tower remained standing, but was no longer functional.

Overhaul[]

In December 2022, ZacNVR redesigned and moved the main Spawn platform. The new design was meant to align better with the new version of Ocean Road built a few months earlier.

Trivia[]

  • Prior to Version 3, players would sometimes spawn outside of the Spawn platform. This was due to the Spawn platform being too small and a game rule being set incorrectly
  • Spawn is an addressable street
